We started our morning by catching a train from Pisa to Florence. By this point, we were both a little bit tired from all the walking, sightseeing and overall travelling, so we decided to take it easy. Sometimes, your mind and body need a simple day of relaxation. We arrived in Florence at noon and after we checked into our apartment, we headed to the city to look for something to eat.
We found a cute, cosy sandwich shop called Ll Bufalo Trippone, just two minutes from our accommodation. I ordered a sandwich called Oratore with Tuscany salami, fresh cheese and tomato sauce, and Dominik went for Cartaldo, a sandwich with spicy salami, spicy cheese and onion jam. The bread was thin, so we could taste all the ingredients, and both sandwiches were flavorful and very delicious! We sat on random stairs outside the shop and enjoyed our food while we watched people around us.
Our next stop was the Santa Maria del Fiore, one of the largest churches in the world. We decided to order Aperol Spritz and enjoy the dome from a view of a nice restaurant.
For the rest of the evening, we just walked. We walked along the river, explored the Ponte Vechcio, took a picture in front of Fontane Delle Ramp del Poggi, and saw a beautiful view of the whole city from Piazzale Michelangelo. We would have explored more of Florence, but unfortunately, we didn’t have as much time as we would have liked and we had a difficult travelling day ahead of us. We stopped at Mercado Centrale for quick dinner and then headed back to our apartment to relax.
